realtime 3D video 5.1 audio installation

Developed in collaboration with Surreal Projects this is a panoramic 3D and 5.1 real-time live audio-video emersive system installation; complete with real-time 3D mixing panel for the linked audio-video components and associated algorithms.

Sounds were associated with video footage and placed in real time anywhere within the dome's structure. Many algorithms have been programmed, including beat-bouncing between the 5.1 speaker system, and stereo/frequency panning separation techniques.

The performance structure was a 30 meter wide double ring 11 point 5.1 speaker system with 5 seamless overlapping 360 degree projectors on a central core dome and more than a dozen dia projectors.

Personally wrote all of the software, developed the necessary real-time 3D controls and collected all the audio composition for our performance.

Our team consisted of 5 core memebers and around 30 additional volunteers/professionals were brought into play to ensure all aspects of the performance. Oversaw the audio-engineering team as well as various project management related functions.

Final showing of our endeavour was executed on the museum plein in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 2005.
