life at the airport exit = at random country
well, what a totally weird experience in fiji…
i ended up seeing the nandi airport 6 times in the space of 4 days! i think i know this airport by heart now..
😉
every time we tried to leave nandi we were back at the airport and then before we knew it we needed to get back there… after returning to nandi from suva it was raining… again… and this time thickly – i can tell you that there is not much you can do in life when you are on a tropical island and its raining… you end up trapped in a hostel room reading all day, not all that exciting.

the yasawa islands are also uterly touristy, so ididn’t feel all that into it, and after already seeing half a dozen perfect paradise beaches you really do get sick of it somehow…
so, before i knew it, walter and i decided on the spur of the moment to make an exit!
i went on standby, walter bought a ticket [poor lad] and here i am in Aukland New Zealand!!
my connection to Brisbane isn’t for a week, so I get a sneak peek 1 week taste of NZ now, a totally unexpected turn of events, and I can assure you I was not mentally prepared for it – haven’t done any plannign or investigation into what I want to do here for a week, so I’ll probably hjust absorb in the city as much as I can.
🙂
First impressions?
It has a flavor of San Francisco, only cleaner and with no homeless people. Sky is totally blue [unlike in Fiji, HA!] – I like it, in fact, I’m terribly excited! I feel like I’m in a cookie store!
It feels good to be back in a city, i must say I was starting to miss it a bit [i guess I’m not the tropical kid after all].
And now off into the city streets!
😉
