Rising rivers in the enclave of elvish kings,

So, here i am in NZ! What a dream come true! especially after it was all so uncertain just under a week ago.

Since landing in NZ I’ve spent nearly all my time at Bruce and Kathy’s house. Two people I met via tribe.net who are fellow burners [people who go to the burning man festival] – and expats from California. They are absolutly wonderful, kind and generous people with very smart heads on their shoulders and a passion for games that is nearly stronger than mine!

Within just a day I was shoveling soil for a garden in their yard! haha, my future in NZ is looking up!

The festival I played at was very interesting, quite low-key, very local – nothing fancy, but 3 sound systems non the less and a couple of stalls. The crowd looked very low key too – kinda underground, or at least: very rual. I was dead tired when I had to play, so I’m not sure how good it was! [getting a recording tomorrow along with payment]

Tomorrow I am off, and I’ll finally start to see more of the country than Kathy and Bruce’s house! It’s northward either to an artist community – or to a farm with yoga/tree care/permaculture and children.
=-)

From the farm its only a short hop to where I’m playing on new years – and, if all goes well – I’m meeting Charlotte and Suzanne there just in time for the new years! Maybe even Lisette will be there too.

If I don’t post for a while, it’s cause my farm doesn’t have any electricty!

Into the fields I go! Youpie!!

In January I’ll then sweep down the south island to check out the mountain glaciers and stunning fjord lands I keep hearing about – should be tantelizing! Antartica is very close to here, if only I could afford a cruise ship into the ice!!!

with care,

seb.
